newyork.pngThe New York State Vapor Association (NYSVA) has joined with the Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association (SFATA) as an Affiliated Independent Group (AIG) in order to defend the rights of vapor businesses, their suppliers, and consumers across the state of New York.

In the announcement, NYSVA President Michael Frennier said:

“Without continued efforts, we believe the era of the vape shop – the place where smokers can learn, try, and receive support for switching to vapor products – will be over. SFATA has the same mission as the NYSVA, which is to protect the interests of vapor shop owners, their employees’ jobs, the companies that sell into them, and their customers that depend on vapor products to keep them from smoking. There have been significant positive accomplishments under the new leadership of SFATA. We are very appreciative of the help they provided in New York, and we look forward to mutual collaboration to protect our members’ interests on state and federal levels.”

SFATA Executive Director Mark Anton added:

“We are proud to partner with The New York State Vapor Association. Combining a mature state organization like the NYSVA with the recognition of SFATA will strengthen our messaging beyond the borders of New York.  We are stronger when we work together.  By collaborating our efforts and working with our state chapters and AIGs, we strengthen our presence everywhere.  SFATA is committed to supporting our state chapters and affiliates and relies on them to support our federal initiatives in kind.  The working relationship between NYSVA and SFATA has gone on for some time now, so we are thrilled to see it grow into an official partnership.”

The Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association has now added two state-level affiliates since announcing a refresh in leadership just last month, May, 2018.
